How to protect files and the screen after you leave a PC
Short periods away are common in offices, dorms, and shared workspaces. The goal is not to enable every detection method, but to choose a trigger that matches the devices you carry, your routine, and the PC environment.
Different ways of leaving fit different triggers

What to consider before choosing an automatic trigger
- Bluetooth fits people who carry a phone, headphones, or watch, but connection behavior may vary with distance and surroundings.
- USB removal is an explicit action, so its trigger timing is generally easier to predict.
- Away detection helps when operating the PC is inconvenient or easy to forget, but it requires an available camera and must be enabled by the user.
- Camera detection is processed in real time on the PC; frames are not saved, recorded, or uploaded.
Automatic triggers can reduce missed actions, but they do not replace backups, password care, or good device habits. Start with one method, try it in your environment, and add another only when needed.
