Scenario guide · Urgent protection

How to protect files and windows when leaving a PC in a hurry

A call, meeting, or urgent task may leave no time to close every file and arrange every window. A more practical approach is to prepare where private files are kept and choose one or two trigger methods that fit your routine.

First, separate the two things you want to protect

Private local files

Contracts, photos, and personal documents can be placed in a local file vault beforehand. They remain locked while the vault is closed.

Current windows and PC state

When you must leave immediately, a prepared trigger can start protection without requiring you to organize every window first.

You do not need to enable every trigger

  1. Place files that need ongoing protection in a file vault.
  2. Choose one active trigger, such as a one-click action or USB removal.
  3. Add one automatic trigger, such as Bluetooth disconnect or away detection, only if it suits your routine.
  4. Try the setup on your own PC and devices to confirm that the timing is appropriate.

Bluetooth behavior can vary with distance and surroundings, while camera features depend on device access and operating conditions. Configure actions that may affect unsaved work carefully, and keep vault passwords and recovery materials safe.
