What can I do when BitLocker is unavailable?
Short answer
You can still use shortcut, device, or camera triggers for basic window and Windows-lock protection, but you cannot create or rely on a BitLocker vault for sensitive files.
Do not treat basic locking as file encryption
Basic protection reduces the chance of someone immediately seeing the screen or using the current session. It does not turn an ordinary folder into encrypted storage or supply BitLocker when Windows lacks it.
If the vault is your main requirement, upgrade to a supported Windows edition with BitLocker or choose another encryption solution that meets your needs. Avoid unknown system modification tools that claim to force unsupported features on.
