Choosing a trigger
How can I reduce false triggers from Bluetooth disconnects?
Short answer
Choose a stable device that actually leaves with you, allow time for brief connection drops, and start with a reversible action such as Windows lock. Do not let occasionally sleeping headphones directly restart or shut down the PC.
A disconnect does not always mean you left
Headphone power saving, phone restrictions, radio interference, and distance changes can all cause a brief disconnect. Observe the device in your normal environment before treating it as a reliable presence signal.
If the environment is unstable, use a reasonable delay or switch to USB or a shortcut. Trigger history can help distinguish leaving from connection trouble, but responsiveness should not make everyday work unreliable.
- Prefer a stable device that stays with you
- Allow brief disconnects to recover
- Keep high-impact actions disabled while tuning
