Troubleshooting and safety
Why is a nearby Bluetooth device reported as disconnected?
Short answer
Bluetooth can briefly disconnect because of device sleep, phone background restrictions, radio interference, or the edge of signal range. Observe the pattern, then allow more confirmation time or choose a more stable device.
Check connection quality first
Headphones commonly sleep to save power and may be poor presence indicators. Phones and wearables can also be affected by operating-system policies, so observe them at your real working distance and location.
While tuning, limit the result to an easily recoverable action such as Windows lock. If brief disconnects remain common even with a delay, use USB or a shortcut instead of continually increasing sensitivity.
- Keep the device charged and reduce radio obstruction
- Allow a brief disconnect to recover
- Change the device or trigger method if needed
