Can force-lock, restart, or shutdown affect unsaved files?
Short answer
Yes. Force-close, force-lock or unmount, restart, and shutdown can interrupt applications and lose unsaved content. They should remain disabled by default and be used only when you accept the consequences.
High-impact actions do not replace saving
An application may be writing a document, database, or file inside the vault. Sudden termination or storage removal can discard incomplete writes, and some files may require the application's recovery process.
Prefer window hiding and Windows lock. If a stronger action is truly needed, narrow its scenario, allow more confirmation time, and rehearse with disposable data. Maintain an independent backup for important data.
